Loveys at Nannup Festival

Yes, it’s true! The Loveys performed at the wonderful Nannup Festival in a beautiful little town named Nannup that swells in population from the hundreds to the thousands in a space of a week each year.. There is a bowling green right in the middle of this town, with the usual pubs, camping grounds, river bank and fantastically friendly people who gladly billet people like us in their various farm houses on the outskirts.. The Loveys were offered such a luxury where we rehearsed on a piano in the sumptuous dining room and slept like babies in extreme comfort- amazing!. Our first performance was on the MAIN STAGE ( where we watched none other than Archie Roach the following day). How gorgeous it was- to have a little changing room, a mirror and a wonderful sound system- And what a warm and lovely crowd of people to enjoy our music- we were stoked!!

Main Stage Midday!!

Main Stage Midday!!

The following day saw us on a smaller stage in a venue called The Secret Garden- it was packed as we began our set- another wonderful audience and lots of laughter - it had been such fun getting ready for this gig because there was no Green Room for us to change in- Troy to the rescue found some temporary bits and pieces including a mirror and carpet to cover the rocky ground and there we were in the open air back of a shed applying makeup and pulling on our glitter. As we rocked along having enormous fun, the sound suddenly died altogether- leaving us with no option but to stop playing or to continue acoustically…which we did after a small nod at each other. We stepped forward on the stage, then onto the floor where the audience were sitting… we had to shout our words a bit but it was immense fun and greatly appreciated by our audience…
